Burvills has been shaping metal since 1945. What began in a traditional blacksmith’s forge is now a workshop in Surrey trusted by architects, designers and developers around the world, creating sculptural staircases, finely detailed balustrades and bespoke balconies that sit quietly within the buildings they belong to. Every project is approached with the patience our first forge demanded, and built to become a permanent legacy.

Architecture may shape a home, but it is the craftsmanship that gives it character. A home reveals itself in the details – the line of a staircase, the finish of a handrail, the way materials sit within a space. We work alongside private clients, architects and interior designers to make the metalwork that earns those moments: drawn for the room it lives in, made by hand, and finished to be lived with for generations.
Commercial Architectural Metalwork
Considered buildings are settled in their details. We partner with the architects, developers and contractors behind some of the country’s most ambitious commercial projects, drawing, fabricating and installing metalwork that lets the architecture do the talking. The standard does not move with the scale.
International Bespoke Metalwork
Today, our work extends far beyond Surrey. From a Mayfair townhouse to a villa on the shores of the Caribbean, we collaborate with international design teams and private clients who expect the same patience, discretion and finish at distance as they would at home. Each piece arrives looking as if it had always been there.
